Mission Statement

The Independent Scholar Program (ISP) is a home school program aligned with our state alternative education laws that offers an opportunity for partnership with families whom have chosen to educate their children at home.

The professionals at ISP are committed to providing guidance in achieving individualized grade level expectations for every student enrolled in the program. The program provides families regular collaboration with highly qualified teachers, professional development opportunities, and access to educational resources.

ISP is structured to work together with parents, who choose an alternative educational option, and understand that they are instrumental teachers, who focus on the development of their child's academic success and unique learning styles.

Information about our Homeschool Program

What is the Independent Scholar Program (ISP) in Riverside School District? Who are the families we serve? What does ISP have to offer? These are just a few of the questions you may be asking yourself. The good news is ISP is an amazing homeschool program, right here in your school district, which is undergoing exciting changes.

This education program provides social and academic enrichment for homeschooling families. The Independent Scholar Program serves students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, who have chosen to homeschool, but are looking for guidance on curriculum, support in achieving grade level standards, as well as a partnership that ensures they are implementing the most effective methods of instruction possible.

Our students have the opportunity to attend in person two days a week or choose other educational options that fit the needs of the student and family.

The vision for Riverside School District's Homeschool Program is to provide quality educational support for our families, to ensure the students are meeting grade level standards, and to adequately prepare them to achieve the future of their dreams!
